Abstract:

The reserve of hydropower resources is tremendous in Africa. However, due to lack of financial input and technical support, Africa's hydropower resources have not been developed and utilized on a large scale. Power shortages have become one of the main "stumbling blocks" to Africa's socio-economic developments. Based on a large number of data analysis and statistics, the potential and status of hydropower development in various regions of Africa was analyzed, the hydropower development planning of major countries was interpreted, and the spatial evaluation of hydropower investment in Africa was given. The characteristics of Chinese enterprises' hydropower development in Africa for a long time was deeply analyzed, the advantages of Chinese enterprises were summarized, and some key points and suggestions for Chinese enterprises to invest in Africa were put forward.
