Power Generation Technology (CN 33-1405/TK; ISSN 2096-4528) was founded in 1979. It is an academic journal approved by the The State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of the People's Republic of China, governed by China Huadian Corporation Ltd., sponsored by China Huadian Power Research Institute Co., Ltd., and co-organized by Thermoelectric Professional Committee of Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering. The journal is published by the Editorial Department of Power Generation Technology.

Power Generation Technology targets professionals and practitioners in energy and power industry as well as relevant scientific research institutions. The journal reports on basic research, applied technology, and research progress in the fields of power generation technology and energy science, promoting the exchange of technical experience. Publication History
This journal was founded in 1979 under the name "Construction Machinery for Water Conservancy and Electric Power". It was renamed "Refrigeration Air Conditioning & Electric Power Machinery" in 2001, and then renamed "Power Generation & Air Conditioning" in 2012 (ISSN 2095-3429, CN33-1372/TH). In 2018, it was renamed "Power Generation Technology" (CN 33-1405/TK; ISSN 2096-4528).
