Abstract:

Carbon ultimate analysis is an essential procedure to guarantee the data quality of carbon content per unit calorific value, especially of great importance to greenhouse gas emissions accounting for coal-fired power plants. In order to have a better understanding of carbon ultimate analysis, the effect of quantitative measurement of carbon element on carbon content of unit calorific value was researched. Meanwhile, the obstacle for application of carbon content measurement was figured out. Suggestions on method to solve problems occurred during the popularization of ultimate analysis were proposed. It concludes that the application of ultimate analysis facilitates acquires reasonable benefits for coal-fired power plants during the emission trading scheme while causing minor economic costs.
