Abstract: Based on The manual for Production of Industrial pollution sources, the calculated value of SO₂ emission was much higher than the actual discharge.In the research, the petrographic analysis of biomass fuel was shown, and the calculated value and actual discharge of SO₂ emission from twenty biomass power generation units were compared. Reference on the calculation of SO₂ emission from coal-fired power plants, the conversion coefficient of SO₂ was selected as the proportion of combustible sulfur in biomass,with the desulfurization efficiency considered. The results were more close to the actual discharge. Therefore,some arguments about pollutants generation and discharge coefficient in the manual were put forward.
