Abstract: Bursting failure occurred on waterwall tubes in a power plant. Macroscopic inspection, chemical analysis, mechanical property testing and metallurgical analysis were adopted to examine the failed tube. The results indicated that the tube rupture was resulted from brittle fracture caused by hydrogen damage. The causes of hydrogen damage were analyzed and discussed.
