Research on Optimization of Operation Strategy for Independent New Energy Storage Power Stations Considering Capacity Value
Abstract:ObjectivesThe construction of a new power system under the dual carbon goals requires energy storage to provide key support. Currently, the construction of new energy storage faces the challenges of high investment cost, long payback period, and low utilization rate. Therefore, a novel optimization method for operating strategies is proposed, aiming to promote the large-scale application and development of energy storage through shared investment cost among multiple parties.MethodsFirstly, a daily cost assessment model is established based on the full lifecycle cost of independent energy storage power stations. Then, based on the evaluation model, a multi-market participation framework covering peak-valley arbitrage, frequency regulation, and leasing is designed. Finally, by introducing a cost allocation coefficient, a flexible cost-sharing mechanism for energy storage is established, enabling dynamic optimization of the operation costs of energy storage power stations through leasing market price signals.ResultsThe method increases energy storage revenue, accelerates the cost recovery period, and the cost allocation coefficient can be flexibly adjusted with the development of energy storage technology, thereby improving the strategy’s adaptability and sustainability.ConclusionsThis study offers an effective pathway for energy storage cost allocation and holds significant implications for promoting large-scale investment in energy storage construction. Keywords:energy storage;independent new energy storage power station;cost allocation;strategy optimization;multi-market participation;capacity leasing;economic performance of energy storage131|41|0

Abstract:ObjectivesThe natural gas-fueled compressed air energy storage (CAES) system presents environmental pollution challenges, and replacing natural gas with hydrogen as fuel cannot cause greenhouse gas emissions. However, there is currently insufficient understanding of the technical and economic feasibility of the hydrogen-fueled CAES system, so it is necessary to carry out relevant research.MethodsBased on exergy and exergoeconomic analysis methods, a comparative analysis is conducted on the thermodynamic performance, distribution of irreversible losses, economic factors, and exergoeconomic performance of the hydrogen and natural gas fueled CAES systems. In addition, the sensitivity of two parameters is also discussed.ResultsThe hydrogen-fueled CAES system outperforms the natural gas-fueled CAES system in terms of discharge time, energy storage density, and exergy efficiency. Due to the higher cost of hydrogen compared with natural gas, the levelized cost per unit exergy of the product for the hydrogen-fueled CAES system is $155.62/GJ, significantly higher than the corresponding cost of $27.57/GJ for the natural gas-fueled CAES system. In order to align the investment payback period of the hydrogen-fueled CAES system with the commercial competitiveness of the natural gas-fueled CAES system, the recommended selling price for electricity should reach $0.206 2/(kW⋅h). Additionally, the hydrogen-fueled CAES system is more sensitive to parameter changes and can achieve better performance improvement and cost reduction under high parameter conditions.ConclusionsThe research results reveal the potential applications of the hydrogen-fueled CAES system and provide a technical reference for its further commercial promotion. Keywords:energy storage;hydrogen fuel;compressed air energy storage (CAES);exergoeconomic analysis;sensitivity analysis85|30|1

Abstract:ObjectivesCompressed air energy storage is a type of energy storage technology with large capacity, long cycle, low cost and high efficiency. Due to the strict requirements of gas storage chambers, gaseous compressed air energy storage cannot be widely promoted and applied in multiple scenarios and on a large scale. Therefore, a non-supplementary combustion liquid compressed air energy storage system was proposed.MethodsA theoretical calculation model was constructed to conduct sensitivity analysis on key parameters such as compressor interstage temperature, number of compressor stages, and turbine inlet temperature within the system. The results were compared with those of a non-supplementary combustion gaseous compressed air energy storage system.ResultsToo low or too high interstage temperature in compressors will restrict the improvement of electric-electric conversion efficiency of the system. The number of compressor stages is positively correlated with compressor power consumption, and negatively correlated with the turbine power generation. Under the same inlet pressure, the higher the inlet air temperature of the turbine is, the larger the power generation is, and the higher the electric-electric conversion efficiency is. Compared with the non-supplementary combustion gaseous energy storage system, the density of non-supplementary combustion liquid energy storage system is increased by 3.7 times, and the volume of the storage chamber is decreased by 9/10.ConclusionsThe non-supplementary combustion liquid compressed air energy storage system effectively solves the problem of gas storage chambers, enabling compressed air energy storage technology to be promoted and applied in multiple scenarios and on a large scale. It is of great significance for deep peak shaving of thermal power units and large-scale energy storage in power grids. Keywords:energy storage;peak shaving;non-supplementary combustion;gaseous compressed air energy storage;liquid compressed air energy storage106|321|0

Abstract:As a clean and efficient advanced power generation equipment, the solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) has the structural advantages of separation of air and fuel gas, which makes it easy to enrich the CO2 in the tail gas of the fuel side. In order to improve the CO2 concentration in SOFC anode tail gas, a steady-state multi-physical coupled model was established for the commercial three-way catalysts, considering the mass transfer, heat transfer, and chemical reaction processes in the catalytic combustion of SOFC anode tail gas. Based on this model, the catalytic combustion characteristics of SOFC anode tail gas were simulated. The effects of different inlet temperature, reaction space velocities and catalyst sizes on combustion temperature, wall temperature, H2 conversion, CO conversion and outlet CO2 concentration were studied, and the change trend of each parameter was obtained. Based on the existing experiments, the outlet CO2 volume fraction could be increased from 94.72% to 95.33% by optimizing the space velocity, and the outlet CO2 concentration could be increased from 94.72% to 95.64% by optimizing the catalyst size. Abstract:The long period operation at 45 ℃ and 3 V of the mesoporous carbon-ionic liquid-carbon covered aluminum foam based electrical double layer capacitor was studied. The composite electrode sheet was formed by embedding mesoporous carbon with carbon-coated aluminum foam, and the 3 cm×5 cm pouch was composed of EMIBF4 as electrolyte. The operation law of charge and discharge was studied at 45 ℃ and 3 V for 1 500 h. It is found that the internal resistance change rate is about 10%, and the capacitance retention rate is as high as 98%, both of which are far better than those of organic liquid-based electrical double layer capacitor at 2.7 V and 65 ℃. The gas generation of pouches at 2.7 V/65 ℃ and 3 V/45 ℃ was compared. It is proved that the soft package of mesoporous carbon-ionic liquid-carbon-coated aluminum foam based electrical double layer capacitor can work stably at 3 V, 45 ℃ for 1 500 h.
